How to Add Discount/Coupons on Food Desls?

The Discount feature enables admins to create, manage, and track promotional coupons to drive user engagement and boost orders.

Coupon Table Breakdown

Upon accessing the Discount section, administrators are presented with a detailed list of existing coupons, each displaying the following information:

  • Coupon Image & Name:
  • Coupon Code: A Unique Code users must enter to redeem the discount.
  • User Count: Number of users who have successfully used the coupon.
  • Discount Tab: Displays the type (percentage/fixed) and value of the discount.
  • Description: A short note or label added during coupon creation.
  • Start & End Date: Defines the validity period of the coupon.
  • Status: Shows whether the coupon is Active or Blocked. Admins can toggle this.
  • Action Tab: Options to Edit or Delete the coupon.

There is a search bar located at the top right corner, allowing admins to search for specific coupons by entering relevant codes. Besides that “Add Coupon” button is there.

1. Initiate Addition: Click on the ‘Add Coupon’ button located at the top right corner.
2. Enter Coupon Details:

  • Banner: Upload an image representing the coupon.
  • Title: Provide a name for the coupon.
  • Code: Set a unique code that users will apply.
  • Discount Type: (Flat/percentage)
  • Discount Value: The additional amount/percentage that will be discounted for the user.
  • Per Day Limit: Maximum uses per user per day
  • Use Limit: Max no. of times a specific discount or coupon can be used within a timeframe
  • Maximum amount to apply
  • Validity Period: set the start and end dates.
  • Select Type
  • Deduction form
  • Select Items
  • Description: Add details about the offer.
  • Private coupon

3. Save coupon: click on the ‘Add’ button to finalize and create the coupon.

A Coupon requires the user to apply a specific code at checkout, while a Deal is automatically applied based on eligibility (such as product, restaurant, or date) without the user entering a code.

Users will see available Coupons on the checkout page or in their user account’s discount section. Deals are typically displayed on the home screen or relevant category pages and are auto-applied during eligible transactions.

Only admins can create, edit, activate/deactivate, or delete coupons and deals. Merchants may request discounts, but the final configuration must be done from the admin panel.

Yes. You can link a coupon to specific restaurants, categories, subcategories, or even individual items using selection filters in the coupon creation or editing interface.

Use the “Public” or “Private” toggle:

  • Public: visible to all users.
  • Private: not shown to users but can be applied if they know the code — ideal for personalized promotions.

This is the minimum cart value a user must reach to become eligible to apply the coupon.

Yes. You can set:

  • Per day limit: How many times a coupon can be used in a day.
  • Use limit: Total number of times it can be used by a single user.

 

  • Admin: The platform absorbs the discount cost.
  • Merchant: The restaurant or vendor absorbs the discount cost.

Yes, you can define a start date and an end date. The coupon will only be usable during this range.

Use the “Active/Inactive” toggle next to the coupon in the list. Deactivation preserves the data and can be reversed anytime.

The coupon becomes available only when the selected item matches both the category and restaurant conditions — narrowing down the availability.

This depends on platform rules — typically, either a deal or a coupon is applied, not both. However, this can be customized.
